My fridge is running constantly but not getting cold — what's wrong?
This is one of the most common calls we get, and it's usually one of three things: a slow gas leak, a failing thermostat, or a worn door seal letting cold air escape. Running constantly without cooling properly is the classic symptom of all three, so we check each on-site rather than guessing.
Is it worth repairing an old refrigerator, or should I just replace it?

A failing compressor on a fridge that's already 10+ years old is where we'll usually recommend you weigh the repair cost against a new unit — we'll give you a straight answer either way, not just push a repair.
How do I know if it's the door seal causing my electricity bill to go up?
A worn or gapped door gasket lets cold air escape continuously, so the compressor runs harder to compensate — higher bill, more wear, without an obvious symptom besides that. A simple paper-strip test (close the door on a piece of paper and see if it pulls out easily) is a quick way to check before we even arrive, though we test it properly during the visit.
